As a Peak Performance Coach, I’m often asked two questions:
- What do I mean by Peak Performance?
- How does one achieve it?
So here is my take on these questions:
Peak Performance is a state of existence, either momentarily or for extended periods of time, when an entity (either an individual, team or organisation) is:
- operating to the highest levels of its competence and even starting to push beyond it
- producing high quality results that it is proud of and that meet/exceed stakeholder expectations
- experiencing high degrees of growth and fulfilment in the midst of reflection and action
To get to Peak Performance, you need to tap into the following 3Ps:
1. Purpose
The Big Picture. The context. The Bigger Why. The Inspiration. The Cause. The Goal. The Reasons to act.
2. Passion
The deep personal and emotional connection to the Purpose.
3. Potential
The mind-set, skill-set and tool-set required to act towards the fulfilment of the purpose.
When passion and potential are fully unleashed towards a purpose that inspires you, you get Peak Performance.
